As I just mentioned I created a ink–like preset for Offshoots. I’m not totally sold on my finished work but there are some neat things about it. I slowed down the brush speed and configured it so that only one thing could draw at a time. Because I set the minimum branch size to 1 it sometimes creates imperceptible changes to the image, which in turn changes my awareness of the space.

Offshoots is a Mac App and Screensaver that creates random branches. The preset includes a lot of variation and colors but by exercising constraints it’s possible to make a pretty beautiful screensaver.

Next I am going to try just all black and white, in a calligraphic style.
