Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. It’s too bad he couldn’t kill Cheney right then and there.

The money powers prey upon the nation in times of peace and conspire against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than a monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, and more selfish than bureaucracy. It denounces as public enemies, all who question its methods or throw light upon its crimes… As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money powers of the country will endeavor to prolong it’s reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.

No taxation without representation - Wikipedia→
The Tea Party people are leaving out “Without Representation.” It’s never been about abolishing taxes, but getting taxed and not having a voice.

Because of Nancy Pelosi calling people who believe in the Tea Party movement Nazis,” she explained referring to the House speaker, who actually did not call Tea Party members Nazis, but noted that some protesters had carried swastikas. “My grandfather’s family, as Polish Jews, escaped Nazism. To call us Nazis is an abomination.
… and that is exactly why ‘Tea Party’ people come off as total loonies. The foundation of their group seems based around hearing it wrong and being unapologetic.
…Oh, and that swastika thing is pretty disgusting.

Isn’t it ironic..
I don’t think it’s ironic at all. Democrats requested an adjustment to the Senator appointment process that seems more fair than it was. A truly balanced approach will be beneficial or harmful to either party.
Isn’t it a little ironic that the same law that the Democrats changed in 2004 is what lost them the Massachusetts Senate seat in such a dire time?
(The Democrats, fearing Mitt Romney would appoint a Republican Senator if Kerry were to win the presidential election and vacate his Senate seat in 2004, submitted a bill to change the law to require a special election within 145-160 days after a Senate seat becomes vacant. Even more ironic is that Kennedy was instrumental in that change. Even more ironic is that they’d still hold that seat if the previous law was upheld.)

I’m a history buff. I love the Museum of Natural History.
Massachusetts senator-elect Scott Brown
He’s right, you know: the Hall of Paleobiology, the Insect Zoo, and the “Butterflies + Plants: Partners in Evolution” exhibit are like flypaper for history buffs.

What happened yesterday at the Supreme Court profoundly changes America. Now corporations will have completely unfettered ability to crush any candidacy they don’t like. More than ever, we can see who owns this country. We see what the pillars of the Court have become: a continuation of the pinstripes on the big corporate sleeve. Our ability to fight them is now simply whisked away by five reactionary justices, all appointed by Republicans.

Larry Lessig on Obama’s first year in office. In short: regardless of your political affiliations and ideals money has corrupted the United States government, let’s group up and get publicly funded elections in place and stop the corporations from controlling our government.

Did I mention I want to have all of Larry Lessig’s babies?
