The Bloom box→
Am I the only one envisioning giant robots?
The Bloom box is a new kind of fuel cell that produces electricity by combining oxygen in the air with any fuel source, such as natural gas, bio-gas, and solar energy. Sridhar said the chemical reaction is efficient and clean, creating energy without burning or combustion. He said that two Bloom boxes - each the size of a grapefruit - could wirelessly power a US home, fully replacing the power grid; one box could power a European home, and two or three Asian homes could share a single box.

iPhone apps I’d love to use as they are on the iPad
With the iPad announcement that iPhone apps will work immediately I got thinking about which apps I’d love to use as-is on an iPad:
- WriteRoom and presumably Taskpaper when it’s out
- Beatmaker – giant drum pad sampler!
- SunVox
- Jasuto – processing speeds will greatly enhance my enjoyment of this app
- Bleep!Box - a real size virtual drum machine!
That said, if I own and iPhone and an iPad I’d expect there to be some method of exchanging files between the two. Hopefully Apple’s recent move to force ioLibrary out of Amidio’s apps better points coming down the line.
PS - I think my desire to buy the $800 Teenage Engineering OP-1 just died.

AusPen Eco–Friendly Whiteboard Marker→
When I painted our monolithic chalkboard wall in our kitchen I was under the impression that dry erase markers were toxic. It turns out they were but these days are non–toxic.
Better than that, these whiteboard markers from AusPen are not only non–toxic but they are refillable. A whole kit (6 markers of various colors and 6 refills) will run you $70… but each marker can be refilled 40 times before another refill is necessary.

The Simplest & Efficient iPhone Stand We've Seen | Apartment Therapy Unplugged→
My iPhone stand is a black metal mesh business card holder, similar to this one, but from Bob Slate. Works great, $3.
Very, very, clever.
