Hobbit Meals: Eat smaller, more frequent meals.
Why a Paper System?: I decided to jot down my reasons for making a paper system of organization, before I forgot.
My name is Erik Mallinson. I draw pictures, make music, and some other stuff. I like playing the ‘ukulele, riding my scooter around Boston, and playing board games.
Follow me on Twitter (@erima) if you’re into that sort of thing.

Songs about Food Safety, done in a Weird “Al” Yankovic Style. Site is 100% Flash, but yet 100% awesome. His voice kind of reminds me of Jello Biafra. Songs include, We Are The Microbes (in the style of We Are The Champions), Who Left The Food Out (in the style of Who Let The Dogs Out), and Don’t Be A Gambler (in the style of The Gambler).
Found via Food Party via Ian.
Food Party is so awesome.
Please consider this the LARGEST WTF I’ve ever exclaimed

I’m really excited to head over to the Taza Chocolate Open House this Saturday, December 5th from 10am to 6pm.
Taza Chocolate creates shone–ground, organic chocolate and pays the growers fairly for their work. It’s co–founded by the dudes who created Zipcar.

On Saturday, October 3 from 1-8PM, Harvest Fest will bring together some of the finest artistic, culinary and musical talents from in and around the city of Somerville. Samples and demonstrations from local microbreweries will be presented throughout the day.
Sounds cool. $12 for a food and drink wristband, otherwise free.
ps – why does the brand new Arts at the Armory website use frames? UGH.

Awesome essay on the history of Herrell’s by Gus Rancatore, owner of Toscanini’s about the beginnings of Herrell’s Ice Cream and the artisanal ice cream movement.
I never knew that Herrell’s started in Davis Square, nor that it predated and influenced Tosci’s and Ben and Jerry’s.

Artie recommended Vermont Soy as an alternative to the usual stuff. I’m not sure I can tell too much of a difference between this and Bridge Tofu (which is 33% less expensive) but it’s definitely great and a step up from the regular stuff.
