Assorted notebook and Adobe Ideas comparison drawings.
While I decided to leave the waterbrush and watercolor kit at home so I could focus on ink drawing I couldn’t resist opening Adobe Ideas[1] and trying out some of these ideas in color. I have been trying to loosen up a style I started years ago and got to thinking about how to incorporate it into other work as well as how similar it is to topographic maps. - I use Adobe Ideas 70% of the time that I draw these days. ↩
Before heading down to Charlotte, NC to hang with the in-laws and have a baby shower I decided to leave the waterbrush and watercolor kit behind and focus drawing with my Lamy Safari fountain pen. I was hundreds of miles away from my tools and thus had to accept it. [1]
Here I’m attempting to loosen up on a drawing style I started when I was twelve or thirteen. I’m not sure what to call these. When loose like this they remind me of Mayan hieroglyphics and topographic maps. From here I went even more loose.
- Well… I did still have my iPad and I did some color tests there.
