Rest in peace James.
I lived around the corner from Hub Comics for years. Before that James and I used to take the same bus into work, though we never talked. When James was first interviewed by the Globe I recognized him immediately and was excited for him. We chatted on Twitter occasionally, we exchanged a few emails, but I (being really introverted) never made the jump to an in-person conversation. That said, I felt tremendous pride for Hub Comics and always made it a point to follow along with them on Twitter and root for them all along the way through the hardships they’ve faced. You’ll be missed James.
I hope, too, that Hub Comics stays open. It’s an amazing place.

I often take local to mean something utterly ridiculous. For example, why go to stupid Davis Square when you can get everything you need right here in awesome Union Square? With that insane and ridiculously specific thought in mind I created PROSPECTUS SPECTACULARIS, a humble blog about Union Square. PROSPECTUS SPECTACULARIS takes its name from Prospect Hill, a vantage point used during the Revolutionary War and possibly the first place the American Flag has ever been raised. These days it offers a terrific view of Boston.
What’s to love about this place? I hope you follow along as we discover. Have questions about Union Square? Just ask. If you have something you’d like to share head over to the contribution page and send it in!
Despite the title, it’s actually an interview regarding the new local food grocer Sherman Market in Union Square.
Hey! I can see my house from here!
This place is around the corner from my house but I’ve never been. They sell “cool stuff” and now that I found they carry Field Notes brand notebooks I may have to stop by.
Union Square is awesome.
UPDATE: ARGH! They also sell the Sun Jar’s I’ve wanted for a long time.
Blog of the new Union Square store that sells vintage stuff.
