I decided that I’d try WriteRoom/SimpleText (with some heavy lifting from TextExpander for the graphs) to visualize a Pomodoro journal. One of the ideas in the Pomodoro Technique is that one breaks down tasks into 25 minute groups and takes five minute breaks in between (basically). If you are interrupted or distracted then the “pomodoro” you are on is considered void and you start from the beginning.
This journal tracks how many “pomodoros” (uninterrupted 25 minute periods of focused work) I have accomplished each day. Using TextExpander I just type “fd” (file date, eg- 2009-12-10) and then “1p” - “7p” (eg- 4p = ▉▉▉▉). I dig how visual it is but that it is still entirely textbased.
