Woah, thanks for featuring my tweet! I’m flattered.

If you haven’t checked out Patrick Rhone’s Minimal Mac please do so. I end up clicking “Like” on a lot of posts. In fact the whole idea that I should really take another look at the icons up on my Menubar was kicked off from a Minimal Mac post.

To me simplicity starts with asking myself, ‘Do I need this within arms–length?’ If not it gets tucked away somewhere or thrown out. It’s an ongoing quest. On a computer it is easier to dispose of things but it is harder to realize you do not need them.

Gosh, this is so true.

Go ahead, give it a shot, remove the clock from your menubar. Just for a little while. Just to see how it feels. Do you need to be somewhere at a particular time? Put it on the calendar and set an alarm to go off long enough before hand to allow you to get there. Do you need, for some reason, to know what time it is right now for some reason? Put the clock widget on your Dashboard. You can always put it back if your really find you can’t live without it but here is what I have found…

When you are not watching the clock, you forget about the clock and, when you do, it is incredibly freeing.
