Flickchart makes movie ranking fun(ny)
if you hate screwin around and rating the rotten tomatoes and the IMDBs on the nets then consider flickchart a breath of fresh air.
the process is rather simple, youre given two movies and you chose which one is better. if you havent seen the movie, you can swap it out for another one and keep going. you can rank movies by genre, year, decade, or rank any movie regardless of choice. youre better off narrowing your choices in a specific cateogory otherwise youll get some apple to oranges comparisons if you let them pick the movies. the more movies you rank, the bigger your list builds and you can eventually see which movies are your favorites, worst and so on.
the only downside so far is that the site can be really SLOW at times, i mean 56k SLOW, so if you have time to kill than this shouldnt be an issue. otherwise the site is good and has a considerable upside in being a great alternative to measure a movie’s efficiency.
flickchart is currently in private beta hence the slowness so you may or may not get in, though lifehacker got us a back door entry to registration.
