A long, interesting introduction. I’m a bit turned off by all the eggs and meat but I think this book will be legendary.

"Create New File" with Quicksilver →
I just followed this tutorial on how to use Quicksilver to quickly create new files without opening an application but I changed the last bit.
Instead of making a folder to hold my templates I simply created a symlink to the templates folder I store on Dropbox.
Viola! Now I have the same templates to choose from on any of my computers.

Use Quicksilver for quick timed reminders →
I’ve decided to try Quicksilver. This timer tip (think: tea) is terrific… I wish there were a way to bind it to a keystroke or something. I also wish that some of the other advanced uses for Quicksilver (the ones that attracted me to it) would reliably work.
NOTE: Another way I can do this is to simply use Quicksilver to open the scripts included with Minuteur(stopwatch/timer app) which will...

After a bunch of brainstorming and research I discovered a great bag to carry my tools around (brushes, paints, journals, ink, etc).
One thing I don’t mention in the video - it’s only $30 and available nearly everywhere.

LOLZ.
But then the fun began. The tree had already been planted, but there was a ditch dug around it, and a pile of dirt with four shovels so that the Dalai Lama, Faust, and the deans of the divinity and education schools could ceremonially turn over some soil. But the Dalai Lama was having none of that. When Faust turned over a timid shovelful, he said to her, simply, “too little,”...

It’s apparent that Miyazaki didn’t just drop everything at a point and create a new ending; the film contains bits and pieces throughout

Bob Graham proved the CIA wrong about when he was briefed about Water Boarding because he’s kept meticulous notes for the past 30 years. In fact when his preferred notebook was discontinued he bought the entirety of the company’s back stock.

Eating less meat →
I started out like Marco, eating less meat, eventually eating just seafood and fish, then not eating any meat at all. What set me over the edge was reading the Buddha Graphic Novels. Essentially it makes the point that in modern society there is no need to kill animals to survive, we have agriculture to keep us going. So why kill when you don’t have to?
There have been a few times where I wanted...

It’s clear now that a lot of the wit in Miyazaki’s film originates from Jones though I like the formers character design more.
